Defenders of the Song

More than grows the rose
is the ascent of its beauty
the song deep within
the artist and poet

Would we but know our pledge
to recognize a seed submerged
dulcimer tones that await
wings of color

This unfolded heart, then praised,
emerges from the earth root
to which it clings,  thus to
sing for the generations
